Boardwalk Casitas: Green & Yellow

The Best Deal on the Malecon!  Situated right on Esperanza Beach in Vieques, steps from restaurants, bars, grocery stores, snorkeling and swimming, the Boardwalk Casitas are ideally located for value oriented tourists who want to be in the midst of things.

The Green Casita lies underneath the shade of a sprawling flamboyan tree on the Malecon (The Boardwalk) in Esperanza. It is located in the center of most tourist activity on Vieques. A modest house, the Green Casita has three double bedrooms (all with air conditioning), one large bath, kitchen and living area on a half acre of shaded garden. Watch the sunsets from your terrace or lounge under the mango tree. The location is so convenient that the rental of a car is optional. Ideal for up to 3 couples, this house offers an exceptional value. Amenities include full kitchen facilities and one bathroom.  Ready to go with sheets and towels; just bring your friends and a toothbrush.

The Yellow Casita, which lies directly behind the Green Casita, includes two bedrooms, large living room, vaulted ceilings and spacious porch. It lays in the shade of the mango tree and offers all of the conveniences of the Green Casita. Two bedrooms, both with air conditioning and queen size beds, combined with a fold-out couch in the living room make this house also suitable to up to three couples. Amenities include full kitchen facilities and one bathroom.  Sheets and towels are part of the deal.

The Location. The Malecón is the Boardwalk of Esperanza. It is where most of the restaurants, bars, aqua sports outfits, boating and sailing activities can be found on Vieques. The Vieques Historical Trust houses the internet café and is located side by side with boutiques such as Diva's and Kim's Cabin. Breakfast and lunch sandwiches can be found next door at Belly Buttons or two blocks to the right at Trade Winds.  Fun hangouts to your right include Duffy's and Bananas Restaurants & Bars, as well as excellent upscale food establishments of El Quenepo and Bili Deli.  During the daytime you can walk to the beaches, snorkel across to Cayo Afuero island, sit on the terrace looking at fishing boats and yachts come in and out of the harbor. Within walking distance, you will find Sun Bay recreation park and magnificent beach, the Green Store supermarket and a host of other amenities. At night Malecón comes alive with the full spectrum of nightlife activities. From three dollar beers and karaoke to fine dining under the stars, all within minute walks from your front door, you will not find a more convenient place for your stay at the beach.

Transportation. The Vieques públicos, minibuses which consistently circle the island, all stop on Malecon. These buses will take you anywhere you want to go for a very reasonable price. There are a number of car and scooter rentals available on the island and guests will be greeted at the airport or the ferry upon their arrival.
